The Keep is located in Gould’s Country in North East Tasmania.

The 250 acre property neighbours the lush forest of The Blue Tier Forest Reserve. There is no public transport to The Keep however a car and some good directions will lead you to us - just go slow and stay safe.

The Keep is located in a very beautiful but isolated location and this remoteness is one of the things that makes it special. As in many parts of remote Tasmania, very soon after hitting the gravel road you will most likely lose phone reception.  This continues until you are well past our boom gate. Once up at The Keep, reception is usually reliable (if you have a Telstra phone), but this still can be affected by inclement weather.

We strongly suggest downloading or printing the map prior to leaving home as some mobile networks have unreliable mobile coverage and we wouldn’t want you to get lost on your journey to The Keep.

From the East Coast

The Keep can be approached from Tasmania’s East Coast, and is inland (or west) of the coastal village St Helens. Travel north via Ansons Bay Road to Priory - this drive is approximately 45 minutes and 25 minutes of this drive is on gravel or unsealed roads so please travel carefully and enjoy the journey.

From Launceston

Coming from Launceston you’ll travel via Scottsdale, Derby and Pioneer with many the delectable pit stop on the way. It is just over a 2 hour drive from Launceston and about 20 minutes of this drive is on unsealed or gravel roads so please drive slowly.  If you are travelling from the Launceston Airport you should allow 2 hours and 15 minutes of travel time.
